She has received a lot of Canadian award. Through her career, she received 5 awards from Canada. The first one is the Cartier Lifetime Achievement Award. The second is being named Companion of the Order of Canada. The third one is that from 2004 to 2008, she got Chair of the Canada Council for the Arts. Finally, she could now be proud of winning the Governor General’s National Arts Centre Award and the Governor General’s Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement in 2002. Because of all her artistic prices, she is inspiring a lot of dancers convincing them that if you work hard you can become a professional dancer. She is an inspiration for all the dancers that started to dance when they were not that young. Because of her international prices like the Distinguished Artist Award from International Society for the Performing Arts, she is a pride for all the canadians dancers.
